Current opportunities

  • Lead teachers work anywhere from 3-15 hours a week and can also be hired to lead events such as birthday parties, community events, and camps. Lead instructors will go through a full Little Beats (paid) training program before leading their own classes.

    Maintaining a high quality of teaching is extremely important to us. That's why we also invest in our instructors by sponsoring professional development opportunities and certifications that will help them become the best in the biz of early childhood enrichment.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Tasks:

    • Teaching weekly dance and creative movement classes to babies, toddlers, preschoolers and/or elementary students

    • Potentially teaching Rock-a-Baby music class with our band (IF you are comfortable singing, this is not a requirement)

    • Lead facilitator/performer at birthday parties and events

    • Managing events at the studio as well as external community events

    Required Skills:

    • Comfortable singing/dancing/being silly with a large group

    • At least 3 years of experience working with children

    • Ability to lead a group of adults

    • At least 6 years of dance training

    • First-aid certified (required to complete this before beginning teaching)

    Bonus skills:

    • Experience working in a preschool

    • Experience in a dance studio as a student or teacher

    • Children’s Zumba certification

    • Children’s Yoga certification

    • Degree in early childhood education

    • Degree in dance education

    • Degree in occupational therapy

    • Degree in recreational therapy

    • Degree in dance therapy

    • Experience working in similar organization (Gymboree, MyGym, Kidville, etc.)

    Benefits:

    • Once established as a lead instructor, pay rate will start at $25-$35 per class depending on level of performance and number of hours

    • Training rate ranges from $10-$15 per class depending on experience and number of hours

    • Flexible work schedule based around teaching hours and your availability
